Turbinate Hypertrophy

Turbinate Hypertrophy Glendale & Burbank, CA - (SCENTAA)

Turbinates are normal tissues inside the nose that filter, humidify, and heat inhaled air as it enters the nose.  The turbinates located at the bottom of the nasal cavity, called the inferior turbinates, can become enlarged from a chronic condition such as chronic sinus inflammation and allergies, or from an acute upper respiratory infection.

Symptoms of inferior turbinate hypertrophy may include

  • Difficulty breathing through the nose
  • Nasal congestion or the feeling of “stuffiness”
  • Snoring

Turbinate hypertrophy can be alleviated by medications and/or certain minimally invasive procedures performed in the office or operating room. If you think you have turbinate hypertrophy, please call our office to make an appointment to see one of our providers who can accurately diagnose and treat your nasal symptoms!
